When we recommend building products to our clients, we research to find materials that hold up well, are low-maintenance and look great. One product we've used in many of our homes is DuraCeramic tile. It looks just like ceramic tile, but it's actually a manufactured product made with crushed limestone. Here is why this is on the list of materials we recommend:
1. It holds up well.
It's very durable and holds up almost as well as commercial-grade flooring.
Water doesn't get in these tiles, and you don't have to re-grout when it starts to look icky. This means they work well for floors in bathrooms and mudrooms, where grouted tiles look shabby after a while.
2. It's easy to fix.
We know that many of our clients have active households and life happens. DuraCeramic tiles are installed using an adhesive rather than a grout, with each tile pushed up tight to the next. This is a great advantage, because it you ever damage one you can pop it up and replace that one. With tiles laid with grout, replacing a broken one can be a challenge.
3. It's convenient to install.
When you're done laying the tile, it's ready to walk on! Since there's no grout you don't have to wait for anything to set up.
4. It's easy to change.
Most people end up wanting to change out their flooring after some time has passed, and these are much easier to remove than ceramic because you don't have to break through tiles.

When we help our clients choose, we've done our research, so we can help you weigh your options and enjoy the process of finishing your home. We know that even fantastic products aren't meant to be used everywhere. For example, DuraCeramic is not made for tiling showers. So, we'll be sure to help you find the perfect finish for each room.
We use products we're comfortable with using in our own home; we have DuraCeramic in multiple spaces in our home and think it's an awesome product. Ask us about this and other wonderful finishes for your home.
